Thraev text messaging program
Thraev sends a small number of text messages about quotes and accounts. Nobody gets a text from us unless they opted in themselves by ticking an unchecked box on one of the web forms shown below. There is no marketing and no bulk sending.

How homeowners opt in
A homeowner is the customer of a trade contractor who uses Thraev. They choose texts themselves, in one of two places. Both boxes start unticked, and the contractor can't tick them on the homeowner's behalf.
1. The contractor's website estimate request form
Where it appears: the estimate form a contractor places on their own website. Live example (a demo business): thraev.com/embed/demo-heating
2. The homeowner's quote page
Where it appears: the page a homeowner opens to read and approve their quote (thraev.com/q/…), in a section titled "Get this quote by text".
See the real form, no login needed
This is the live estimate form of a demo business, embedded here so the opt-in step can be checked without an account. The same form appears on each contractor's own website. Scroll inside it to the phone field: the box below it is the SMS opt-in, unticked.

How contractors opt in
Contractors are Thraev's own customers. On the sign-up form at thraev.com/signup.html (and later in Settings), they can tick an unchecked box:

Message flow, end to end
This is the whole path a phone number takes, for each audience. No message is sent at any earlier point.
Homeowner (a contractor's customer)
- The homeowner asks a Thraev contractor for a quote — through the contractor's website estimate form, or by giving their mobile number to the contractor in person or on the phone.
- They tick an unchecked box themselves: "Text me about my estimate" on the estimate request form (live example: thraev.com/embed/demo-heating), or "Text me about this quote" on their own quote page at thraev.com/q/<code>. The box shows who the texts come from, what they contain, how many (up to 3 per quote), "Message and data rates may apply", "Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out", that consent is not a condition of purchase, and a link to the Privacy Policy and Terms.
- Only after that tick does Thraev send the quote link by text. Up to two reminders follow if the quote is still unsigned (about 2 days and about 5 days later). That is the whole programme: a maximum of 3 messages per quote.
- STOP (or STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT) stops everything immediately and permanently for that number. HELP returns the help message. YES or START resubscribes a number that opted out.
Contractor (Thraev's own customer)
- They sign up for Thraev at thraev.com/signup.html and enter their own mobile number.
- They tick an unchecked box: "Text me about my account", with the same disclosures, plus "Consent is not a condition of signing up". It can be switched off later in Settings.
- They then receive account notices only: free-trial reminders and an alert when someone requests an estimate through their own website form. No marketing.
- STOP and HELP work exactly as above.
Nobody is added by anyone else: a contractor cannot opt a homeowner in, and Thraev never sends a message asking for permission. Every send and every skip is logged with the number, the message type, the time and the result.
